Who Is Barack Obama?

Few Americans have the slightest idea who Barack Obama really is, what he really stands for...or how he actually got where he is today.

Jeff- I applaud your efforts here and would like to thank you for everything you've done.

We have much in common. I did not vote for Obama either, yet I support him as president for the same reason you do. I cannot and will not, however, offer my sympathy. He convinced enough people that he was the right man for the job. If and when that should come into question, I do not feel obligated to follow without question.

My biggest concern- the idea of "Change America needs". I believe that this is the wrong attitude. America doesn't need change, Americans need TO change. It's like the old saying, we've all helped make this %@$# sandwich and now we all have to take a bite. Some would rather encourage the idea that somebody else has to take a bite. When we say "Life is full of contradictions", we're trying to evade the fact that it is people who are full of contradictions, while other people become passive and non-confrontational. America cannot save itself, only Americans can save America.
True Americans can be gracious in defeat, (unlike others here in Southern California who spit in the face of democracy once the people have spoken, i.e. Prop 8), but true Americans also care enough to criticize and disagree when necessary.

It was a challenge to educate my teenagers, the oldest of which got to vote for the first time on Tuesday, on politics. Everybody from their teachers, (in a public school, no less) to my own parents, presented nothing more than a biased take on the issues. This is why I feel that much of the Democrat's role in this election campaign came from hatred, passive-aggressive attitudes that reinforce values like "mad at you for being mad at me" or being the victim of those who ask questions they don't care to answer.

Jeff, thank you so much. As I heard the distressing news yesterday morning,
I reminded God of His word "The heart of the king is in the hand of the
Lord and He shall turn it whichever way He desires"; "I will NOT see the
RIGHTEOUS forsaken or their seed begging bread". Just b/c O'bama is the
president doesnt mean that my God's hands are tied. He is mightier than
O'bama and He is still on His throne. He hasnt fallen off b/c O'bama was
elected. God loves His people and will protect us. I too have vowed to pray
for the president and his family and all those in Congress. Just b/c I dont
care for him doesnt mean I have to stop praying. I pray that the
treacherous will be rooted out of our Government and that men and women of
integrity will stand strong. All that is hidden shall be revealed. He's a
sheep in wolves clothing and that will show itself in time. I too have the
upmost respect for President Bush. I admire him with great honor.

Thank you,

Christy

Redistribute the Wealth

Today on my way to lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read 'Vote Obama, I need the money.' I laughed.
Once in the restaurant my server had on a 'Obama 08' tie, again I laughed as he had given away his political preference -- just imagine the coincidence.
When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need--the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight.
I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the server inside as I've decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful.
At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn even though the actual recipient deserved money more.
I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept than in practical application.
Also, employers could announce the consideration of employee raises, then withhold those raises and give the proceeds to a worthy cause, preferably one involving non-workers ... PRICELESS!

just up late reading on craigslist and ran across your post.   I got chills reading it, as I think the same thing will happen and I am a born and bread 30 yr old white american female.  No one believes me, everyone thinks I am crazy for even "thinking this way".

Everyone thinks america is invincible, all mighty and all powerful.  I wish there was a way to get your word out there to others to get them to think and listen.  Why is this so hard, I will never understand.  Are we that brainwashed?  I just pray it is not too late.  The media and Hollywood are so powerful and persuasive and we are just a bunch of lost sheep clinging to our guns and religion.  Or lack there of.  God Bless you for your story, keep telling it, maybe they will listen.

Hi Jeff,

I am feeling that I need to do more, but I am unsure of what the "more" is.  I am unable to get into the Campaign Headquarters every day due to work constraints and feel such a sense of urgency to get something done. I wrote and emailed a letter to everyone on my email contacts and listed your web site on there.  I will continue to post daily on craigslist and tell everyone I speak with about the severity of our political situation.  What I really don't get is how many people have been manipulated by him and think he is a good candidate for our president.  I have been talking about this since the onset last year. Maybe I should of done something then, but in the back of my mind I for sure thought he would fizzle out and people would see Barack for what he really is because it did not take me long to figure it out.  But the opposite has happened it is as though he brainwashed a huge segment of our population and they bought it hook line and sinker.  I am sick to my stomach at the thought of this.  If you have any suggestions of what else I can do please tell me.  My landlord lives upstairs with her boyfriend who is a devout Barack believer although she is a republican, but submissive when it comes to her man so I do not think I can blast the front of my house with McCain/Palin signs.  I was thinking of writing in grease pen on the rear window of my car your web site addresss so that people driving behind me will be curious enough to check it out. I would really love to go public real public with a bull horn and signs and try to get the attention of anyone thinking about Barack as a good candidate...If I had enough savings I would take a leave of absense from work and spend every waking moment on it.... There are only 58 days left and we need a miracle.

Hello Jeff,

My name is Debra and I live in Massachusetts.  I have been so upset with the potential of Barack becoming our president that I have done something positive to help McCain/Palin.  I joined and volunteered today at the McCain Campaign Headquarters here in Boston and spent 5 hours on the phones conducting polls.  Whenever I spoke with someone about Obama and they were leaning towards him I referred them to your web site. I am on fire. I will not stop talking/fighting about this ever. It amazes me how many people cannot see him for what he is...I don't get it.

Keep up the good work. I also post in craigslist daily and have put the web address on there. Sorry about the dead animal and slashed tires.

Blessings * Gratitude,
Debra

Jeff

The word divisive is very subjective by definition and use. It is subjective to opinion, upbringing, background, culture, education, brainwashing and many other things. In this case it is subjective to politics. The Democrat Party  the Media and the Department of Education  have been taken over by Socialists and Communists who have systematically brainwashed the party and have turned party members into little Lemmings marching to the beat of the leaders brainwashing drum.

I used to listen to a talk show host who was driven off the air because he refused to be flexible or to  change what he believed in. Geoff Metcalfs' favorite saying was. "Don't let me confuse you with the facts that contradict your preconceived opinions".

I am sorry that you have been subjected to the abusive and divisive opinions of  Obama supporters. I admire you for putting up the site at all. You have talents that I can only dream about. I want to encourage you to stand fast on your convictions. We as Christians have a tendency as a whole to turn the other cheek or stand silent. It is didifficult when dealing with people who refuse to allow FACTS to get in the way of their preconceived opinions.

All of the above being said,  I again have to say I admire you for even taking on this project. And the fact that you are attempting to soften its edge is again adadmirable.  My wife tells me that if I had the talent to put up such a site I would not be as flexible as you. But then I think she is wrong. I would probably just go away. Or I would remove any possibility for Obamites to submit a counter opinion.  I mean the facts are the facts and you know you can't change your in-laws opinion over Thanksgiving dinner.

Remember that Liberals are almost always guilty of what they are accusing others of.

You are right in that. If, If, If you can help one misguided Obama follower to see the truth then you have succeeded.  There are many Democrats that get their news from the brainwashing machine that are not followers but only creatures of habit geting their news from the liberal media. Perhaps you can reach some of them.

Thank you for all your efforts to save America, I have heard it said "May God Have Mercy On America if Obama becomes President".

Thank You again.
John
